This is actually really fascinating - see how the anger is focused around the head? That says a lot to me about where we are when we get mad; it’s sort of hard to describe the way the rage sits behind your eyes but proper anger makes the brain boil and pistons out to the fists in cases of outwards reactions to whatever causes it.
It’s also interesting to see how fear and sadness focus on the digestive system - fear in particular in the depths of the bowels. Stomach and bowel disorders affect a not-insignificant number of people with depression and anxiety problems, myself included.
Plus I’ve had an inability to properly express anger from a very young age - so all that powerful, broiling emotion gets completely internalised. Unfortunately, when you do that with such strong responses, they don’t just go away. So while the GP treating my physical ailments at age 16 was baffled as to why I had stomach ulcers, the doctors who have addressed my mental health have been far better at explaining why my guts are all so stupid.
